About Annemarieke

I am Annemarieke Moes, a coach, counselor, and therapist with expertise in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy, specialized in giftedness, high sensitivity, grief counseling, and stress and burnout. My main goal is to help you bring out the best in yourself, make the most of your potential, and experience greater happiness, balance, and fulfillment in your life.

Sometimes this requires digging a little deeper: breaking through inner barriers and clarifying what you need, so you can clear the path to truly be who you already are on the inside and achieve what matters most to you.

I am a positive, calm, and dedicated conversation partner, committed to your personal development. I guide you through your process of change, helping you tap into your inner strength, clarify your goals, and make the most of your talents and abilities so you can live your life the way you want.

Education

For as long as I can remember, I have had an innate curiosity about human motivations and behavior. Since 2004, I have been actively pursuing personal development, which has provided me not only with extensive knowledge and experience but also with deep self-insight and an understanding of what drives people.

I have a background in the following fields of study:

  • Communication Science (minor in Social Psychology) – University of Amsterdam

  • Psychology (specializations in Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Clinical Psychology) – University of Amsterdam

  • Professional Coach Practitioner – Dutch Academy for Psychotherapy

  • Giftedness Professional – Center for Giftedness

  • Stress & Burnout Coach | Depression, Grief & Loss – Laudius

  • Psychosocial and Medical Fundamentals – Dutch Academy for Psychotherapy

  • Integrative Counseling – Dutch Academy for Psychotherapy

  • Classical Hypnotherapy – Dutch Academy for Psychotherapy

  • Medical Hypnotherapy – Dutch Academy for Psychotherapy

In addition to mainstream psychology, I have spent many years exploring existential questions, spirituality, and the meaning of life, which over time has provided me with valuable insights and a deep connection with myself.

"When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy."

- Rumi

NFG, NAP and continued education

As a counselor and psychosocial therapist, I am affiliated with the NFG (Dutch Federation of Health Care) and the NAP (Dutch Association for Psychotherapy). This ensures the quality of my professional training and services, and makes it possible for clients to receive reimbursement through supplementary health insurance.

To stay sharp and continue developing professionally, I participate in a regular peer supervision group and continually pursue further training and education.

Work

During my career as a dancer, dance teacher, and choreographer, I have enjoyed developing, sharing, and passing on my passion. This period also gave me insight into the inseparable connection between body, mind, and emotions. And I still dance with great joy.

Following this, I worked in both the commercial and non-profit sectors, seizing every opportunity to continue my professional growth through courses, training, and workshops. However, I realized I was still searching for deeper meaning: work that truly touches my heart.

As an integrative Coach, Counselor, and Therapist, I have found my calling. I truly enjoy guiding people who feel stuck, whether personally or professionally, helping them identify what is holding them back and overcome internal obstacles. I love seeing them (re)discover their dreams, clarify what they want to achieve, and take concrete steps toward their goals.

I truly enjoy seeing clients make significant strides and achieve far more than they ever thought possible.

Stress and burnout

Over the years, I have gained both personal and professional experience with stress and burnout. In 2004, I went through a severe work-related burnout, initially misdiagnosed as depression. I also experienced unexplained physical symptoms and was told I would require lifelong medication – yet within a year, I no longer needed it. My ongoing search for causes and solutions marked the beginning of an inward journey: Who am I?

Within nine months, I completely transformed my life: I started a new study and I began work that truly inspired me. Life started flowing again.

Now, more than two decades later, I understand that at the time I had encountered a combination of internal and external factors that can lead to stress-induced exhaustion and burnout. I love guiding people toward well-being, exploring their challenges, and helping them resolve these issues and get back into balance. I believe everyone deserves this.

Albert Einstein quote | Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

Giftedness

As someone with firsthand experience, I understand the challenges that giftedness can bring, both professionally and personally. Many (though not all) gifted individuals are also highly sensitive, which can present additional challenges in life.

At the same time, I am aware of the unique and special qualities that giftedness and high sensitivity also bring. I am grateful for the extraordinary perspective on the world, the intensity of experiences, and the ability to truly see and understand people.

Drawing on my own development and questions, I have also pursued professional expertise in the fields of giftedness and high sensitivity.

Personal life

I live in Amsterdam Zuid with my husband and our two daughters. I greatly enjoy motherhood and watching our daughters grow and develop. I also love dancing, photography, spending time with friends, and, of course, personal development.
