Support and guidance for gifted adults
Coaching & therapy for gifted adults
Gifted people are often assumed to be exceptionally intelligent and effortlessly successful people who, because of their quick thinking, creativity, and strong perseverance, encounter few obstacles. The reality is much more complex. Many gifted adults actually struggle with their extraordinary abilities and with feeling “different.”
As a gifted person, you often feel fundamentally different from others. And you are also fundamentally wired differently. You think, perceive, and experience things differently than most people around you. You have strong cognitive abilities and see patterns, but you may not always be heard.
Many gifted adults feel out of sync with their environment, lacking authentic connection. They often feel misunderstood and tend to stand on the outside of a group. This can happen at any age. And especially when people are not yet aware of their own giftedness, it can lead to confusion and insecurity.
Coaching and therapy can help reduce the challenges associated with giftedness and support you in discovering, developing, and expressing your potential. Because being gifted does not mean you have to struggle — you, too, can live a life that truly aligns with who you are — a life in which you feel at home and your unique strengths can fully unfold.
Am I gifted?
There is no single “type” of gifted person. However, many gifted adults share certain characteristics to varying degrees. On this page , you will find a description and an extensive list of these traits. If you recognize yourself in many of them, there is a good chance you are gifted. But not all gifted individuals experience their giftedness as a positive thing.
As a gifted adult, you face challenges just like anyone else—yet these challenges are often colored by your giftedness. And this is not always recognized or understood. It can be incredibly helpful to work with someone who can follow your (sometimes complex) thought processes, who understands what you feel, and who recognizes the challenges you face.

Gifted at work
As a gifted adult, you often have broad interests and strong analytical skills. This can make it challenging to find a fulfilling job or experience sufficient mental challenge and satisfaction over time. Many gifted adults get stuck in their careers, which can lead to stress, doubt, or feelings of underutilization.
Common themes include: the need for autonomy and purpose, staying motivated and inspired in your work, managing relationships with colleagues and managers, and translating your talents, strengths, and inner motivations into a concrete career path.
You may sense you want something different in your work or have a vague idea of what you'd like, yet lack the clarity and confidence to turn your ideas into actionable steps.
It’s not unusual for gifted adults to work below their potential for extended periods. This can stem from loyalty, insecurity, fear of failure, perfectionism, or deep-seated beliefs about yourself and your abilities. Underestimating your own talents or lacking a clear self-image often plays a role as well.

Gifted as a person
Giftedness affects not only your thinking, but also your feelings, self-image, and how you relate to others. Counseling and therapy can support personal well-being, emotional balance, and self-confidence. Common themes include perfectionism, communication, coping with not being understood, and managing inner restlessness.
Discovering later in life that you are gifted can be a deeply impactful experience. Years of doubt or feeling “different” suddenly make sense. The pieces of the puzzle fall into place, bringing relief — but it can also bring confusion, sadness, or frustration.
At this stage, many gifted adults feel a desire to live more authentically, consciously apply their talents, and make choices that align with who they are. Counseling and therapy can offer clarity, support, and help you release old patterns without losing yourself.
Psychotherapy can also help develop a more positive and realistic self-image. Insecurity, fear of failure, and limiting beliefs often influence how gifted people see and evaluate themselves. These patterns can be deeply rooted, but they are not fixed and can be changed.

You will gain insight into your personal themes and inner processes, clarity about what you truly want, and practical tools to build resilience, self-acceptance, and emotional well-being — so you can live a life in which you flourish, feel connected, and experience genuine happiness.
